The Chicks

The Chicks

Serventi Ranch welcomed four new additions back in October!  Baby chicks!  Last weekend, the chicks moved into their hen house.  We expect to be getting eggs in about 4 or 5 months, just in time for Easter! We have a variety of breeds that will lay both green and brown eggs, and we have been excited to watch them grow.  As one might guess, they are all named after different apples!

Gold Chick - "Bellflower" is a Buff Orpington

Black Chick - "Kansas" (named after the Arkansas Black Apples) is a Black Australorp

(2) Brown/Black Stripe Chicks - "Honeycrisp" & "Pippin" are Ameraucana's

Harvest R&D

Fresh Pippin Cider

Fresh Pippin Cider

When life gives you apples... you make cider!  Using the kitchen juicer, we tested single variety ciders and different blends, with the goal of finding the best juice recipe - great color, flavorful aroma, and of course, stellar flavor!  Then we decided we needed more space for R&D...
